Itinerary

July 2nd, 2010
We start off today with our flight to St. John’s and The Sheraton Hotel Newfoundland our home for the first 3 nights of our tour. Dinner is included at our hotel - a wonderful start for our tour!


July 3rd, 2010
Our time in St. John's will include whale watching at Witless Bay Ecological Reserve. With time for a sightseeing stop at Cape Spear as well as a city sightseeing tour to see all that St. John’s has to offer.


July 4th, 2010
This morning is reserved for a privately guided tour of Mun Botanical Garden. The afternoon is free in St. John’s, or perhaps spend more time wandering in the Botanic Gardens.


July 5th, 2010
Our route today starts at Mile One of the Trans Canada Highway as we make our way to the Avalon Peninsula towards Cape St. Mary's. Our home for 2 nights . Terra Nova Golf Resort Dinner is included tonight in the hotel’s dining room.


July 6th, 2010
This morning is at leisure, and the afternoon is reserved for a wonderful drive... starting with a visit to Cape Bonavista, where John Cabot landed in 1497.


July 7th, 2010
After a relaxing morning, and an early lunch we begin our drive to Gros Morne Park, Rocky Harbour and the Ocean View Motel our home for the next three nights.


July 8th, 2010
This morning we are off to Woody Point and the Discovery Centre, enjoy a nature walk of the Tablelands, described as the Eighth Wonder of the World.


July 9th, 2010
Today we cruise on Bonne Bay on a boat called I’se da B’ye. The 2- hour cruise affords vistas of Gros Morne, Killdevil, The Tablelands and the Long Range Mountains. We will take part in an age old tradition “a Screech-in” becoming honorary Newfoundlanders! The afternoon is free to enjoy the park, and dinner is at the hotel.


July 10th, 2010
The Viking Trail... our coach becomes a time machine taking us to the beginnings of our planet, through ancient native burial grounds, wooded valleys, over mountains, and along a windswept seacoast.


July 11th, 2010
Our 2nd whale watching opportunity is in the scenic coastal waters off St. Anthony’s - Iceberg Alley - Our sightseeing today will include a visit to L’anse aux Meadows National Historic Site where the Vikings established the first European settlement in North America about 1000 years ago.


July 12th, 2010
We have a leisurely drive to Cornerbrook today, with lunch enroute at Hawke’s Bay. Dinner and overnight are at the Glynmill Inn.


July 13th, 2010
Sadly we say goodbye to Newfoundland today! We have a very short drive to the Deer Lake Airport and our flight home.
