The country of Jordan is mainly desert it's capital Amman, the capital since 1921, is a mix of both modern as well as a more traditional city. Petra, the highlight of our tour, is a gigantic amphitheatre hidden in the rocks out of which a city with immense facades have been carved, it is one of the wonders of the Middle-Eastern world. Also float in the the Dead Sea, 392m (1286ft) below sea level, and the lowest point on earth.

Instead of flying back to Cairo for a last night on our Exotic egypt tour, fly Luxor/Cairo/Amman to begin your Jordan extension tour.

Today we travel south to Wadi Rum - Jordan’s largest desert. Included is a jeep excursion into the desert to view the spectacular desert landscape. We continue south to Petra.

This morning we tour Petra! In the afternoon we depart for the Dead Sea.
