"I had to let you know how much I enjoyed our eco-tour
to Newfoundland, what a beautiful part of our country, it was so
well organized and our guides were super. When I travel again I will
choose Battlefield Travel."

3 or 4 week stay: In the heart of the Cote d’Azur, Cannes

During your stay on the Cote d’Azur you will find the local train schedule both frequent and convenient allowing day visits of the entire area. The bus stops directly outside the Residence and the train station is conveniently located in town. Why not take a day trip to Monaco where you can see the palace, the old city, the port and of course, the world famous casino. The Palace grounds feature wonderful gardens with attractive and unusual flowers from around the world. One can also see the old city, with the church where Princess Grace is buried. Other days can be filled with tours into the perfumed hills of Provence - perhaps a visit to the town of Grasse the perfume capital of the world. There are many reasons the French Riviera became known as a great place for artists… for Matisse it was the light, for Cezanne it was largely to escape the draft, Renoir settled here for his health, and Picasso seemed to find echoes of his Mediterranean upbringing in Spain… It would keep you busy just visiting the many museums and galleries that are the legacy of these wonderful artists.
Tucked in the heart of the Cote d’Azur, the town of Cannes is known world wide for its famous Film Festival, but there is more to Cannes than this annual two week event in May…the town is delightful and compact with a pleasant shopping street lined with boutiques. Alongside the beach is an attractive beachfront, la Croisette, which is peppered with cafes and bars, many offering picturesque views across the Bay.
